The  Open Cats section is open to any other catamarans that would like to race.
We have Tornadoes, A-Class cats, NACRA's,  Hobie Tigers, Formula 18's and Formula 16's sailing on a regular basis.

Just turn up and speak to the officer of the day.

SAIL PERTH’S FASTEST BOATS

The Olympic Class TORNADO is the fastest and most exhilarating catamaran in the world.  

Perth has the strongest fleet of these boats anywhere in Australia, and here is your chance to join this exciting class. Currently there are a number of boats for sale in WA to suit a range of budgets, available to be test sailed by prospective buyers.

FORMULA 16 CATAMARAN

Who? The target groups for the Formula 16 are the lighter and medium weight crews and especially the mixed crews that typically fall into this weight range. A single-handed sailor that occasionally or regularly takes somebody along falls right into the target group of the formula 16 as well. When the crew cancels at the last moment than the sailor can just take off the jib and attend the event in single-handed mode.

Over the past few months, the Formula 16 population in WA has doubled. There are now two Formula 16 Catamarans sailing at Nedlands, one Viper and one Blade (both Australian designs). As the Formula 16’s speed is almost similar to the F-18, we prefer to race against the F-18’s. Therefore we will go to open regatta’s where it is expected that the F-18’s show up as well!
